GOMBAK, March 31 — The Gombak community service centre has allocated RM1.6 million in Ramadan contributions to 129 mosques and suraus in the Parliamentary constituency.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said of this amount, RM20,000 was distributed to 21 mosques, followed by RM15,000 to 20 Friday prayer suraus, and RM10,000 to 88 other suraus.
The allocated funds were a joint contribution from the Menteri Besar’s Office, the Sungai Tua state constituency’s community service centre, and individual contributions.
“May these contributions ease and lighten the burdens of the mosque and surau managements facing challenges due to the increase in the number of visitors, especially during fast-breaking and late-night prayers.
“I believe this assistance will also enliven the atmosphere and enhance activities throughout the Ramadan fasting month,” he said.
Amirudin was speaking at the Ihya’ Ramadan contribution ceremony for Gombak Setia’s mosques and suraus and the distribution of Hari Raya Aidilfitri contributions, at Masjid Al-Khairiyah Taman Sri Gombak today.
During the event, the Menteri Besar also handed out contributions to eight mosques, 33 suraus, and 12 Friday prayer suraus in Gombak Setia.
