Vouchers distributed at Ramadan bazaar to encourage digitalisation agenda

HULU LANGAT, March 30 — 500 Digital Rahmah vouchers worth RM10 each were distributed for free to visitors at the Ramadan bazaar in Section 3, Bandar Baru Bangi today.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this is part of the state government’s efforts to encourage the digitalisation of businesses, especially among small traders and hawkers.

“The public can redeem these RM10 vouchers for free purchases at this Ramadan bazaar today.

“The vouchers’ distribution is also part of the promotion to attract traders to participate in the Selangor Platform (PLATS) initiative,” he said after inspecting the bazaar.

Amirudin added that presently, over 20,000 traders and small vendors have joined PLATS, developed by the state administration to help expand the traders’ markets and increase sales.

“It is a positive development, as by joining PLATS, they stand to enjoy many benefits via various programmes organized by the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI, including the efforts to digitise businesses,” he said.

During his inspection, the Menteri Besar spent time mingling and distributing festive cookies to the bazaar’s traders.

PLATS was introduced in Ramadan 2020 to complement the Selangor Digitalisation Agenda ecosystem through digital platforms, following the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is a state government initiative to assist micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to digitalise their businesses.

PLATS also features a new initiative, the Plats Entrepreneur Development Training Programme (U-PLATS), to help entrepreneurs manage their businesses digitally.
