SHAH ALAM, April 19 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, distributed early aid to flood victims at the Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sungai Binjai’s temporary evacuation centre in Meru yesterday.

Its social responsibility and corporate communications head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said a total of 500 food packs and 20 cartons of mineral water were also channelled to the Meru state assembly office for distribution.

“Recently, we approved a RM10,000 allocation for basic necessities aid at two relief centres located at SK Merbau Sempak and Dewan MPKS Desa Coalfields, Sungai Buloh.

“Yesterday, MBI provided additional assistance to flood victims seeking shelter at SK Sungai Binjai,” he said when contacted.

Among the aid provided included mineral water, dry food, retort packs, blankets, sanitary pads and diapers.

Additionally, Azri said MBI is considering donations in the form of cash to flood victims.

Previously, MBI had distributed basic necessities to 364 evacuees at SK Merbau Sempak and 38 victims at Dewan MPKS Desa Coalfields.
