SHAH ALAM, April 5 — The Bukit Lanjan state constituency has allocated RM39,000 to mosques and suraus in its area.

State assemblyman Pua Pei Ling said the funds aim to facilitate the management of places of worship in implementing programmes throughout Ramadan.

“Seven mosques and two Friday prayers suraus received RM2,000 each, while another 23 suraus received RM1,000 each. We hope this contribution can alleviate their burden.

“Simultaneously, we are still accepting applications from any mosque and surau in Bukit Lanjan if they require additional assistance. We will carry out periodical reviews if necessary,” she said when contacted.

Pua added that other Ramadan programmes in the state constituency include the distribution of RM5 vouchers to visitors at its Ramadan bazaars.

“This initiative can help ease the burden of bazaar patrons, as well as support traders by purchasing their prepared meals.

“We also distribute iftar meals like bubur lambuk and dates in the surrounding areas,” she said.
