Raya aid is state’s commitment to those in need: MB

SHAH ALAM, Apr 8 — Ahead of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, another 500 zakat recipients in Gombak Setia have received cash assistance, bringing joy to the vulnerable group. 

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, who is also Gombak MP, said on a Facebook post that the programme reflected the state government’s commitment to helping those in need. 

“I handed over Aidilfitri donations to another 500 people who were in need in Dun Gombak Setia at Dewan Beringin yesterday,” he said in his post. 

“This programme is part of the corporate social responsibility of Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) and the zakat wakalah managed by Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS), which channels collected funds for distribution among those worthy of assistance.

“The donation reflects the state government’s commitment to assisting the needy and ensuring their welfare is taken care of without neglect,” he wrote.
