KLANG, April 5 — The Sentosa state constituency service centre has allocated RM80,000 for contributions to underprivileged groups, in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

Its state assemblyman G. Gunarajah said the assistance is in the form of festive necessities and essential supplies for low-income families, as well as duit raya for the asnaf (tithe recipients), which will be distributed this weekend.

“We hope the contributions will bring them joy as they prepare to celebrate the upcoming Hari Raya and alleviate their burdens.

“As an elected representative, I strive to ensure that the less fortunate are given the necessary assistance, especially during festive seasons,” he said.

Gunarajah was speaking to the press last night at an iftar event at Laman Mazmida Sungai Jati, which was attended by media practitioners, government officers, and residents’ representatives.

Meanwhile, the Parti Keadilan Rakyat lawmaker said 500 Jom Shopping Aidilfitri vouchers were recently distributed to low-income households.
