Faisal Halim to receive the best care, treatment until full recovery — MB

SHAH ALAM, May 8 — The state government is ready to assist Selangor FC winger Mohamad Faisal Abdul Halim in receiving the best treatment to ensure the club’s star player fully recovers.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the Selangor Football Association (FAS) has been informed of the state administration’s readiness to provide additional assistance to Faisal.

“Yesterday, I contacted FAS and informed them that if additional treatment is needed, the state government is ready to help.

“We will carry out the recovery process for Faisal, whether via state funds or corporate social responsibility (CSR). All parties should give this incident attention,” he said.

Amirudin was speaking to the press at the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI’s Muhibah Aidilfitri event at the Setia City Convention Centre today. His wife Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad was also in attendance.

In addition to the state government, Selangor FC board member Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar has said Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah will bear the costs of Faisal’s treatment and medical expenses.

He revealed this after accompanying His Highness, Selangor FC’s chairman, to visit Faisal at a private hospital this morning.

On Sunday (May 5), the local football arena was shocked when Faisal was attacked with acid by two unknown individuals at a shopping centre in Petaling Jaya.

He was confirmed to have suffered fourth-degree burns on several parts of his body after undergoing the first surgery on Sunday night, with the attack also limiting his movement and speech.
