KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 — The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) expects 2.52 million vehicles on the North-South Expressway, Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway and both East Coast Expressways around Aidiladha on June 17.
An LLM statement today said all concessionaires had been ordered to stop construction and maintenance involving lane closures, effective Wednesday until June 19, to minimise the impact of increased traffic.
It also said highways and all facilities are operating well, especially at rest stops, lay-bys and toll plazas, with temporary additional lanes opened.
“The concessionaires have been instructed to provide additional parking and portable toilets at several rest stops, increase the number of workers, ensure sufficient water and fuel at fuel stations, and activate smart lanes at several locations,” read the statement.
The public can plan their journeys using the MyPLUS-TTA app by PLUS Bhd for the North-South Expressway, and the Travel Time Advisory published by Anih Bhd for the KL-Karak Expressway and the East Coast Expressway Phase 1.
“Motorists can obtain highway traffic updates via LLM and concessionaires’ official social media such as LLM’s Facebook page, X profile @llmtrafik, and TikTok profile @llmtrafik.
“They can also contact LLM’s traffic management centre at 1800-887-752.
“To view current traffic conditions through CCTV displays on all highways, users can visit the LLM website,” said the statement.
