Trump’s fiscal policies, ringgit slightly higher

KUALA LUMPUR, JAN 26: The ringgit strengthened against the US Dollar in the early trading session on January 26, as concerns of Trump’s fiscal policies continue to weigh on the dollar.

At 9.12 am, the ringgit traded at 4.4260/4310 against the US Dollar and closed at 4.4370/4400 on January 25.
Traders said the strengthening of the ringgit is consistent with other Asian currencies.
However, it traded mostly lower compared to other major world currencies, as reported by BERNAMA.
It depreciated against the Singapore dollar to 3.1317/1357 from 3.1271/1296 on January 25, and declined against the British pound to 5.5936/6030 from 5.5844/5900.
The ringgit rose against the euro to 4.7619/7691 from 4.7693/7734, and was flat against the yen at 3.9068/9122 from 3.9068/9105.
