JPS upgrade reservoir

SELAYANG, APRIL 27: Drainage and Irrigation Department (JPS) took the initiative to upgrade reservoirs in some areas affected by the flash floods, recently.

Selayang Municipal Council (MPS), Suliman Abdul Rahman said he had been contacted by representatives of the JPS Deputy Director, Azmi Ibrahim to inform the efforts on flood retention projects that are being implemented.
“JPS will look back at some suitable areas to build reservoirs to deal with flash floods that occurred.
“In addition, MPS also asked JPS to make maintenance of the involved reservoir from time to time,” he said at a press conference after the full meeting of the MPS at the MPS Building, here, yesterday.
Earlier, there was a flood incident involving several areas including Kampung Sungai Serai, Taman Tun Perak, Kuang area also Kundang, on 16 and 18 April.
At least three evacuation centres were opened to provide initial assistance needs.
