SHAH ALAM, MAY 21: As leaders and members meet, KEADILAN de-facto Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim can only imagine the festive atmosphere of the 12th KEADILAN Annual National Congress that is taking place today.
Anwar in his statement read by his eldest daughter, Nurul Izzah Anwar, said he could imagine the members taking the opportunity to strengthen their bonds at the congress that he is unable to attend due to his five year prison sentence.
“I can imagine the KEADILAN congress atmosphere; festive, spirited and filled with friendship. Banners raised, flags waving strong with slogans blazing.

“Yet the measure of its success is the enthusiasm and energising of fighting spirit, that cooperation is strengthen and for effective continuous action. This is why the Reformasi movement is still going strong demanding for freedom and justice in accordance to Allah’s wishes – Islah mas ta’ ta’tu – and with all our effort,” he said.
Anwar also recalled the initial moments of the reformasi movement that lead to the establishment of KEADILAN.
He said although KEADILAN was belittled at the start, it is now viewed as the biggest threat by Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN).
