Moonson transition phase starts, public to be cautious of impact

SHAH ALAM, OCT 5: The country is entering the monsoon transition phase starting tomorrow and is expected to continue until early November.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MMD) in a statement today informed that the country will receive wind blowing from various directions at low speed.
“The public is advised to be cautious of the impact of thunderstorm that often occur during the transition phase, such as heavy rain, strong wind and lightning,” it said in the statement.
Typically, local heavy rain and thunderstorm occur within a short period of time, and strong wind occurs more frequently during the evenings and nights in most states in the west coast and in the interior of the peninsula, west coast of Sabah, western areas of Sabah, western and central parts of Sarawak.
