PUTRAJAYA, April 26 — The government has agreed to allow private veterinary clinics to operate during the movement control order (MCO), said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said, however, the clinics are only allowed to operate on appointment with pet owners only.
“Animal owners can contact veterinary clinics near their residence to obtain an appointment to avoid crowding at the clinic.
“The move is aimed at controlling big movements of people,” he said at the daily MCO media conference here today.
At the same time, Ismail Sabri expressed his disappointment with the increased arrests of individuals for violating MCO to 577 yesterday from 386 the day before.
He said he was earlier relieved that the number of arrests for flouting MCO dropped for three consecutive days until Friday.
“But yesterday, the number went up, I would like to remind the people that the MCO is not over,” he stressed while warning that police would be stern against anybody found breaching the order.
He hoped compliance of MCO would continue in green zones even though there were no new or no more Covid-19 cases as the order is still in force as usual.
