Covid-19: Klang becomes red zone, highest cases recorded in Selangor

SHAH ALAM, Oct 7 — Klang became a red zone yesterday after recording 77 active cases that are currently being treated, said the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC).

The task force via its Twitter said current active Covid-19 cases across Selangor has reached 232 cases.

“Do not take things lightly, do not become negligent. If it gets worse, it is us who will be in trouble. Please continue to maintain social distancing, wash your hands frequently and wear the face masks,” it said.

Meanwhile, Selangor Health Department reported that Klang became the district with the highest outbreak in the state, with an increase of 20 new Covid-19 positive cases yesterday.

Of that number, 17 were reported to have occurred in the Klang mukim and three more in Kapar mukim.

The district with the second highest outbreak is Petaling with 12 cases, of which four were in Bukit Raja, Sungai Buloh mukim (4), mukim Petaling (3) and one in Damansara mukim.

“This is followed by Hulu Langat and Gombak districts which recorded two new cases each, while Sepang and Hulu Selangor recorded one case each,” it said in a statement, yesterday.
