SHAH ALAM, March 5 — As of February, a total of 894 senior citizens from 32 senior folks’ care centres had undergone the targeted Covid-19 community screening organised by the Selangor government.
Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the free screening was also actively implemented in eight locations involving 3,458 individuals last month.
“This screening will continue to be implemented throughout Selangor. Its date and location will be announced through my social media and the Selangor Task Force on Covid-19 (STFC) from time to time,” he wrote on Facebook.
The Selangor government has allocated RM6 million to conduct free mass Covid-19 screenings within the communities across the state to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The initiative began last year and is expected to benefit 50,000 residents of Selangor with priority given to the high-risk and low-income groups as well as students.
