Raja Muda of Selangor named UPM pro-chancellor

SHAH ALAM, Jan 16 — The Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, has been proclaimed the Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) effective from October 18, 2021, to October 17, 2024.

The title was conferred by His Royal Highness Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, who is also the chancellor of UPM, during the 44th UPM Convocation Ceremony on Wednesday.

Also appointed as the university’s pro-chancellors at the ceremony were Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Ir Muhamad Zohadie Bardaie and Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Syed Jalaludin Syed Salim.

According to the Selangor Royal Office on Facebook yesterday, Tengku Amir had also conferred degrees to 954 graduates at the ceremony.
