MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms, heavy rain in eight states till Feb 6

SHAH ALAM, Jan 30 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecast thunderstorms and heavy rain to hit eight states from tomorrow until February 6.

In a post on Twitter today, the department said that the states — Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Kedah, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and several rural areas in Pahang — will see heavy showers in the evening.

It had also forecasted humid weather in most of the east coast areas of the Peninsular and eastern Sabah, with rainfall in the morning.

As for the northern states in the Peninsular, the hot and dry weather is expected to continue.

According to MetMalaysia, strong winds and rough seas are also expected to occur in the South China Sea from February 2 until 6.
