The three districts affected are Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat. Several other areas and states are also affected by strong weather.

“Strong winds, thunderstorms and heavy rains are predicted for Penang, Melaka, and Johor. In Perak, the affected areas include Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim.

“In Kedah, the areas affected are Kuala Muda, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu. In Pahang, it is Bentong and Bera, while in Negeri Sembilan it is Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and Tampin,” it said in a Facebook post.

East Malaysia is similarly affected, with Sarawak’s areas including Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Kapit) and Bintulu (Tatau), while Sabah’s areas are Pedalaman (Tambunan), Pantai Barat, Tawau (Tawau dan Lahad Datu), Sandakan, and Kudat.

MetMalaysia said the strong weather is expected to last until 9pm today.

“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release,” it said.
