SHAH ALAM, June 21 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari received an honourary visit earlier today from five directors of the Selangor Federal Department at the state government’s official administrative centre.
Taking place for nearly an hour, the meeting also included the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) the Accountant-General’s Department and the Department of Statistics Malaysia.
Also participating in the meeting were the state Information Department and state Education Department, to discuss the coordination of state government programmes.
The Menteri Besar said the visit is also aimed at strengthening cooperation with the agencies involved, which was forged when Malaysia faced two challenging years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The situation faced during that time made us more familiar (with the agencies) than compared to before. I welcome this cooperation as it will greatly help the people’s lives, especially in coordinating aid and programmes,” Amirudin said when met.
He added the Education Department will help identify more education institutions to introduce the Selangor People’s Tutoring Programme (PTRS), Peduli Siswa and Bitara Yayasan Selangor.
Meanwhile, the Information Department is set to continue its cooperation to intensify the public dissemination of state government programmes to the public.
“In addition, the ICU related to federal and state development will be coordinated in the future to avoid any overlap,” Amirudin said.
