Chalet of international standards planned for Taman Alam, Sungai Congkak

GOMBAK, Aug 2 — A RM130 million chalet project meeting international standards is planned for development in two recreational parks in Selangor.

State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian said the areas are Taman Alam, Kuala Selangor, and Sungai Congkak, Hulu Langat.

“A third party is investing RM100 million to develop 80 hectares of land in Taman Alam in order to construct 300 chalets. The construction work will start next year.

“Meanwhile, for the Sungai Congkak project, the party interested in the project has just submitted their proposal, which is anticipated to cost RM30 million, and will be presented to the State Executive Council Meeting,” he said when met after the Tourism Selangor Media Appreciation Ceremony 2022 at Resort Taman Eko Rimba Komanwel, here yesterday.

Hee said the development project is significant to ensure that tourists would opt to spend the night in the area instead of doing a day trip.

“Currently, most tourists stay in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya, so they only go to the recreational areas during the day.

“If we offer comfortable accommodation, visitors, particularly those from abroad, will have the option to stay there, helping the locals to generate their income,” he said.
