SHAH ALAM, Sept 8 — The state’s free health screening programme at Paya Jaras state constituency this Saturday has been cancelled.

According to the state executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud the Selangor Saring programme was cancelled due to unavoidable reasons.

“Participants who had registered for Saturday’s programme location need to reselect the location on their SELangkah app,” said Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud via Facebook.

The state government has allocated RM3.4 million for the Selangor Saring initiative, which is expected to benefit up to 39,000 residents with a history of hereditary diseases, obese individuals, or those leading unhealthy lifestyles.

In addition to detecting breast cancer, the programme also provides physical screenings, blood and urine tests, eyes, cervical, occult stool or colorectal, and prostate tests.
