SABAK BERNAM, Oct 14 —The Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat roadshow has recorded daily sales of up to RM19,000 due to good response from local residents.

Selangor Agriculture Development Corporation (PKPS) assistant manager Mohd Hasri Abu Hassan said that each event location recorded between 400 to 500 patrons with chicken and eggs being best sellers.

“So, starting this week, the supply of chickens at every location will be increased to 500 from 300.

“We are confident that the supplies would be sufficient until year end, which will help ease the expenditure burden for the people,” he said

When met at the roadshow in Sungai Besar Stadium today, Mohd Hasri added that the event is likely to continue until early next year.

“This matter is being discussed with the respective parties, but we are confident that it will continue considering the great benefits it brings to the people,” he said.

The state government allocated RM10 million for the PKPS programme in 56 constituencies from September 6 to December 6 involving 160 locations.

The initiative sells necessities such as chicken at RM10, fresh meat (RM10 per pack) and Grade B eggs (RM10 per pack).

Also sold at lowered prices are mackerel at RM6 per pack, 5kg cooking oil (RM25) and 5kg rice (RM10).
