60 families including persons with disabilities receive Chinese New Year donations from MBPJ

PETALING JAYA, Jan 11 — A total of 60 families have received a donation of RM250 each from the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.

Its Mayor Mohamad Azhan Md Amir said the recipients consist of single mother, the elderly, persons with disabilities (OKU) and households with income below RM2,000.

He said all of them reside in 24 zones including the Lembah Subang People’s Housing Programme (PPR), Kota Damansara PPR and Desa Mentari.

“This is MBPJ’s annual programme for every festive season to show care and love to the people in need. We don’t want them to feel left out,” said the Mayor after presenting the donation at MBPJ Hall SS3/14 in Taman Sentosa, here today.

Mohamad Azhan hopes that the donation will ease the recipient’s burden in preparing for the celebration.

“This is also one of MBPJ’s community services to the residents of Petaling Jaya,” he said.
