MB: 20,271 traders benefited from digital platform initiative

SHAH ALAM, Feb 10 — The Selangor Platform (PLATS) programme has benefited a total of 20,271 traders since it was introduced in 2020.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said PLATS is a digital directory and promotion platform uplifts the economy of micro small and medium enterprises (SMEs), particularly hawkers and merchants in Selangor.

“A total of 20,271 merchants have benefitted since the launch of PLATS, which has broadened the merchants’ product market in order to attract more customers and boost their sales.

“Increased participation shows its effectiveness. The digitalisation plan for Selangor is constantly evolving,” he said on a Facebook post.

Following the Covid-19 outbreak, PLATS was launched in 2020 during the month of Ramadan to complete the ecosystem of the Selangor Digitalisation Agenda through a digital platform.

On April 11, 2021, PLATS 2.0 was launched to allow traders to make money on a continuous basis rather than just during the fasting months.

In April of last year, the 3.0 series virtual platform was extended, involving the collaboration with the Selangor Digital Partner (RDS).
