KLANG, April 14 — A total of 446 shopping vouchers worth RM200 have been distributed to residents in the Sentosa state constituency, for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

Its state assemblyman Dr G Gunarajah said the recipients’ quota, for those in low-income groups, is 500 individuals.

“So far 446 individuals have received these vouchers since the distribution commenced last week.

“Those who have yet to claim theirs can do so at the Sentosa state constituency community service centre’s office by April 19 at the latest,” he said at the launch of the Selangor Junior Superstar 2023 programme yesterday.

Under the 2023 Selangor Budget tabled on November 25 last year, RM16.48 million has been allocated for the Jom Shopping programme and is expected to benefit 82,400 recipients.

It is structured around Malaysia’s three main festivals and is meant for lower-income families to purchase festive goods.

In addition to the value increase the eligibility threshold for recipients has also been changed from a monthly household income of RM2,000 and below to RM3,000.
