Unhealthy air quality in Shah Alam, Cheras at 2pm

SHAH ALAM, Sept 8 — The Air Pollution Index (API) showed unhealthy air quality in Shah Alam and Cheras around 2pm today.

The Air Pollution Index Management System (Apims) site showed a reading of 106 in Shah Alam and 115 in Cheras.

An API of 0-50 is “good”, 51-100 is “moderate”, 101-200 is “unhealthy”, 201-300 is “very unhealthy” and above 300 is “hazardous”.

The latest API can be viewed at Apims.

In May, weather and climate authorities warned of more severe haze in Asean between June and October.

The warning was made as the drought season was expected to be more severe and last longer than usual.
