SHAH ALAM, Sept 28 — RM50,000 has been allocated for a compassionate synergy programme to ensure the safety of residents in 17 selected welfare homes.

State executive councillor for social welfare Anfaal Saari said that via the demonstration of the emergency assistance programme, a total of 445 participants were involved, which also aimed for recognition by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR).

The programme, first introduced last year, aimed to impart knowledge related to emergency aid to staff and residents.

“On a daily basis, this centre manages many residents, so aspects of safety like emergency assistance are crucial to ensure they are prepared for any incidents.

“Demonstrations and field sharing are essential as they provide a real-life perspective. They are exposed to fire drills, using fire extinguishers, and evacuation procedures in case of emergencies,” she said during the event’s officiation at the State Secretariat Building yesterday.

Anfaal added that collaboration with various parties, including Universiti Teknologi Mara and the Kids Campus Group, will catalyse support the operations of welfare homes.
