Team Selangor mobilises volunteers to aid flood victims

SHAH ALAM, Nov 10 — Team Selangor called upon 55 volunteers to assist in cleaning the homes of flood-affected residents in two areas.

Its programme officer, Amin Hafidzi, said the volunteers performed home cleaning operations in Bangi Lama and Dengkil yesterday.

“As of Tuesday (November 7), 35 volunteers participated in cleaning up six homes in Kampung Bangi Lama and Dengkil.

“On Wednesday (November 8), 20 volunteers were present for the cleaning operation at four homes in Kampung Bangi Lama,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Aside from cleaning homes, Amin said aid was also distributed to victims housed in four temporary relief centers (PPS) involving 60 families.

Food baskets, as well as baby and adult diapers, were distributed to the PPS’ in Kampung Dato’ Ahmad Razali, SMK Dengkil, Dewan Orang Ramai Jenderam Hilir, and Balairaya Bangi Lama.

“This distribution was aided by the PPS managers, Village Community Management Councils (MPKK), and village chiefs.

“We hope this aid can alleviate the flood victims’ burdens,” he said.
