Raja Permaisuri Agong presented Selangor’s highest state honour

KLANG, Dec 14 — Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah was presented the Darjah Kerabat Selangor Yang Amat Dihormati (First Class) (D.K.I) order at the Balairung Seri, Istana Alam Shah here today.

The highest state honour was conferred in conjunction with Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj’s 78th birthday celebration. 

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah and Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin also graced the ceremony. 

Others present included Pahang Regent Tengku Mahkota Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah and Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah.

Sultan Sharafuddin also presented the Darjah Kerabat Selangor Yang Amat Dihormati (Second Class) (D.K.II) to member of the Selangor Royal Council, Tengku Datuk Setia Putra Alhaj Tengku Azman Shah Alhaj. 

The conferment of the highest order to the Raja Permaisuri Agong was first announced on December 11 during the presentation of state awards by Sultan Sharafuddin. 

A total of 97 individuals were conferred with various titles and honours. 

The award presentation for the highest order, however, was held separately. 

The first class order, founded in 1961, is awarded to members of the Selangor and other royal families, high officers of state, and rulers of other countries. 

The maximum number of recipients at any one time is 25 people.
