MBSA issues 1,134 Ramadan bazaar permits for 27 locations

SHAH ALAM, Feb 26 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has issued 1,134 Ramadan bazaar permits to hawkers this year.

MBSA Director of Corporate and Public Relations Mohd Azhar Mohd Sharif said 27 sites are available in Sections 6 to 9, 13, 16, 17 to 20, 24, 25, 27, 28, 35, U2, U3, U5, U8 , U13 and U20.

“MBSA also coordinates the issuance of 936 Ramadan bazaar permits organized by private parties, associations or the Village Community Management Council (MPKK).

“There are 12 approved locations including the Shah Alam Stadium Section 13, PKNS Complex Section 14, Section 20, U10 Section, U20 Section,” said Mohd Azhar in a statement.

He added that MBSA introduced an online test system for bazaar permit applications this year.

“The system requires traders to watch a video on MBSA licensing requirements, food handling and waste management procedures before answering questions provided online.

“This test system is MBSA’s effort to increase the traders’ understanding of the criteria set by MBSA and to foster awareness on proper food handling preparation and cleanliness.” he said.
