PUCHONG, March 9 — The Kinrara state constituency’s community service centre has allocated RM31,000 for mosques and suraus in the area for the upcoming Ramadan fasting month, said its state assemblyman Ng Sze Han.

The contribution will be channelled to 31 mosques and suraus to support various programmes during that period.

“I will leave it entirely to the mosques and suraus’ management to carry out programmes which benefit Kinrara’s Muslim community.

“I also hope this contribution will enhance the Ramadan celebrations in accordance with the programmes conducted by the mosques and suraus’ management,” he said.

Ng was speaking at a meet and greet event with the management of mosques and suraus in Kinrara, at Masjid As Salam in Puchong Perdana today.

Simultaneously, he has also taken note of the infrastructure problems in mosques and suraus during his visit, which ought to be addressed.

“We take note of what the management representatives have voiced out; most of them highlighted issues like leaking roofs, dilapidated buildings, termite infestations, and sound system problems which require immediate attention.

“For now, we will assess the needs and priorities for renovations, but we will ensure the safety of Muslims worshipping in Kinrara’s mosques and suraus,” Ng said.
