SHAH ALAM, March 27 — The tabling of the First Selangor Plan’s (RS-1) mid-term review will be held in the coming July sitting, confirmed State Legislative Assembly Speaker Lau Weng San.
The agenda of the upcoming sitting, which is scheduled for two weeks, does not dismiss the possibility of a motion to be introduced by the state government for a special sitting to be held to review the five-year blueprint.
“We expect the debate during the July sitting, including the mid-term review for RS-1, to be more impactful.
“The sitting will be held for two weeks. However, my office has not received any request by the government for a special sitting to accommodate the mid-term review for RS-1,” he said during a press conference on the return of the Youth State Assembly programme at Wisma Dewan Negeri Selangor today.
Lau added that if the state government submits such a request, a special sitting would also require the consent of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.
During his adjournment speech for the First Meeting of the Second Session of the 15th State Legislative Assembly on March 7, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said RS-1’s mid-term review will take place in the middle of the year.
In October last year, he said the review would focus on creating and offering high-value jobs to Selangor’s residents and implementing several high-impact projects, including a new rail infrastructure from Klang to Kuala Selangor and Sabak Bernam, and developing a fully digitised third port in Pulau Carey.
