Jalan Batang Kali-Genting to reopen at 3pm, nearly two years after fatal landslide

KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 — The B66 state road from Batang Kali to Genting, which was closed after a tragic landslide at the Father’s Organic Farm campsite nearly two years ago, will reopen today.

In a statement yesterday, the Hulu Selangor Works Department (JKR) announced that motorists can access the route from 3pm.

The landslide, which occurred on December 16, 2022, claimed 31 lives, causing the Works Ministry to close Jalan Batang Kali-Genting Highlands for slope and road repairs at the disaster site.

The Hulu Selangor JKR conducted road surfacing on the route from May 27 to 29.
