Sukma2016: Selangor wins two gold medals in diving

KUCHING, JUL 26: Selangor camp were all smiles as the dive athletes scored wins and gathered two Sukan Malaysia (Sukma) 2016 gold medals at the Sarawak Aquatic Centre here, today.
Chew Yi Wei won the first gold medal in the men’s platform event while Adeline Chin and Koh Hui Yan dominated the 3m synchronised dive event, winning the second gold.

Chew accumulated a total of 349.80 points to defeat Sabahan Jellson Jabillin (333.50) (silver) and Perak diver Muhammad Syafiq (306.00) (bronze).
A score of 231.36 were enough to secure the gold for Adeline and Koh, leaving their nearest competitors from Federal Territory and Sarawak with the silver and bronze.
The Federal Territory pair, Ker Yin and Megan (228.90) secured the silver while Qian Pin and Eilisha (Sarawak) got the bronze with 206.79 points.
In addition, Selangor also won three silver medals from shooting and cycling.
Shooter Muhammad Syukri Zulkifli contributed a silver in the 10m men’s air rifle while another silver came from the Selangor team of Muhammad Syukri, Muhammad Hafiz Zulkifli dan Muhammad Syukri Azmi in the 10m men’s team air rifle event.
In cycling, Farina Shawati Mohd Adnan crossed the finish line in second place for the 48 km Women’s Criterium for Selangor’s third silver medal of the day.
