SHAH ALAM, OCT 28: Ideas from Selangor state assemblymen are important ingredients for the Selangor 2017 Budget.
Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato ‘Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said that he had at least five sessions of discussion with Selangor assemblymen before the Legislation Bill and Pre-council Meeting on October 27.
“Prior to this, there was only one ‘pre-council’ a few days before council convenes but this year we have five sessions. This proves that assemblymen play an important role in providing feedback and comments before we print the budget books.
“If we have only one today, that would mean that by now all the books and budget documents are ready and printed, but whatever their views we cannot incorporate and alter,” he said.
He said this after attending a briefing at the Operations Room, Annex Building on October 27.
He said he took the approach of giving assemblymen at least three months to put forth their views before the budget was presented.
Besides, he also said that the briefing of the bill legislation can also help assemblymen focus on development issues and management of the state with strong and solid facts.
