Budget 2017: Allocation for development increased

BY AFIX REDZUAN
DENGKIL, OCT 28: Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali had hoped and imagined that he would be able to announce a big allocation for development expenditure in the 2017 Selangor Budget.
He said that the State Government will ensure the development programme will be focused mainly on aspects of home ownership during the budget presentation on Monday.
“Residential property is the interests and rights of the people in Selangor that must be provided by the State Government for citizens.
“In a nutshell, I would like to say that the next budget will set a target for development purposes. It is much bigger than for administration.

“A number of appropriately large allocations will be given for the development of villages across the state,” he said.
He was speaking at Taman Jenderam Murni Residents’ Key Handover Ceremony.
He said that to get out of the economic crisis, expenditure for development should be increased, unlike the Federal Government Budget RM260 billion total where only 17.6% was allocated for development expenditure.
According to him, villages in the state should be developing in tandem with big cities and that their roles should not be underestimated.
On another matter, Mohamed Azmin also presented keys to 83 residents of Jenderam Taman Murni Phase One, thus putting an end to their 17-year wait.

Single storey terrace houses measuring 20ft × 65ft were built through Jenderam Hilir Expansion Plan, after a new developer was appointed in 2011.
Mohamed Azmin also announced that Tourism, Environment, Green Technology and Consumer Affairs Exco Eizabeth Wong will represent the State Executive Council for discussions with developers and Orang Asal so that construction of the second phase can proceed.
In another development, Mohamed Azmin announced an allocation of RM200,000 and graced a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a Community Centre in Desa Timah Langat.
