SHAH ALAM, OCT 3: Selangor is set to organise the Le Tour De Selangor bicycle race involving local and foreign participants, from this October 17 to 21.
Youth, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneur Development Exco, Amirudin Shari said, the details of the event will be announced soon.
“The Le Tour de Selangor race will be held from October 17 to 21. We will make a public announcement.
“The interesting fact is that, the track will cut across all districts in Selangor,” he said to reporters after attending the flag off ceremony for Jelajah Malaysia 2017 at Toyota Motors in Seksyen 15 today.
Based on 2017 State Budget, the government had allocated RM2 million to organise the bicycle race.
Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said it is aimed to promote sports tourism in the state.
“This race eventually promotes tourism product in each district and foster unity from every race.
“The State Government proposed a RM2 million budget to organise the International Le Tour de Selangor,” he said.
It was made to understand that championship is jointly organised with the Malaysian Bicycle Association and Malaysian Bicycle Association.
