SHAH ALAM, April 13 — Selangor Menteri Besar says the mass home-to-home Covid-19 screening operation in the targetted red zones in the state will continue, focusing on the senior citizens and high-risk groups.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said with the joint cooperation between Selcare, the Selangor Health Department, the police and the Hulu Langat District Office, 649 people were screened within two days, beginning Saturday.

“The state government will continue to screen the communities in the red zones, especially the elderly group. Together we will combat Covid-19,” he said on his official Twitter account, yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) had on Twitter said the large-scale screening would be able to turn the red zones into green zones.

The task force said it would also be able to break the chain of Covid-19 infection and reduce the transmission rate.

Earlier yesterday, Selgate Corporation group chief executive officer Noor Hisham Mohd Ghouth said the home visits for the Covid-19 screening will be held in the other red zones in the state as the Health Ministry has identified over 100 areas.

Heading the team in the screening operation, Noor Hisham had also proposed that mass testing should be done throughout the country.
