Make use of MCO period to do more during Ramadan

SHAH ALAM, April 24 — The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has called on Muslims to take the advantage of the movement control order (MCO) period during the month of Ramadan to perform more good deeds and acts of worship at home.

He said Muslims were also encouraged to read books on Islamic civilisation during the holy month and gain valuable insight from them.

“Although all the people of Selangor are currently affected by the Covid-19 outbreak, I pray that Muslims in the state are able to perform the fast properly and with patience.

“I also urge the people to work together in ensuring the Covid-19 chain of infection can be broken by practising social distancing and staying at home.

“Obey all guidelines, advice and instructions issued by the director-general of Health,” he said in a message in conjunction with the eve of Ramadan yesterday.

He also called on Muslims to pray that the Covid-19 situation is quickly resolved and that all the people, especially in Selangor and around the world, were spared from the virus.

Sultan Sharafuddin and the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Norashikin also took the opportunity to wish a blessed Ramadan to all Muslims.
