Water cuts in Klang, Kuala Langat due to burst pipe

SHAH ALAM, June 11 — Several areas in Klang and Kuala Langat are experiencing water disruption due to a burst pipe incident caused by third-party excavating works at Jalan Langat yesterday evening, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).

Its corporate communication head Elina Baseri said the repair work, which was scheduled to have resolved at 10am this morning, is expected to complete by 4pm today.

“The pipe repair works could not be completed as scheduled as additional support work had to be carried out at first due to the depth of the pipe burst, which is more than 2 meters deep.

“The cable removal work by another utility company also had to be done on-site,” she said in a statement today.

Elina said the water supply will be restored in the affected areas — two in Klang and nine in Kuala Langat — by 2am tomorrow.

The areas affected in Klang are Bandar Bistari, and Batu 5 and 6 in Jalan Langat.

As for Kuala Langat, the affected areas are Batu 7 to 9 in Sijangkang, Jalan Sijangkang Utama, Taman Seri Medan, Taman Perwira, Taman Sijangkang Jaya, Batu 9 in Kebun Baru, Eco Santuary, Tropicana Aman, and Batu 9 in Kg Medan.

Water tankers have been mobilised to the affected areas.
