MISC companies to manage sea’s first dual-purpose LNG bunker vessel

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 16 — Eaglestar Shipmanagement (L) Pte Ltd (Eaglestar) has been appointed as the ship manager of Southeast Asia’s (SEA) first dual-purpose Liquefied Natural Gas Bunker Vessel (LBV), Avenir Advantage.

Eaglestar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MISC’s Bhd will partner with Future Horizon (L) Pte Ltd to provide ship management services to the LBV with a cargo capacity of 7,500 cubic metre chartered by Petronas LNG Sdn Bhd for a period of three years.

MISC president and group chief executive officer Yee Yang Chien said the inaugural bunker delivery is a shared success which will forever be marked and remembered by the maritime industry as a historic achievement for Malaysia.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Marine Department of Malaysia and our charterer, Petronas LNG Sdn Bhd for the trust and confidence in us to support the aspiration to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a LNG bunkering hub for the region,” he said in a statement, today.

Future Horizon is a joint venture between MISC and Avenir LNG Limited, which will be the commercial operator for Avenir Advantage.
