SHAH ALAM, March 8 — A total of 12,336 people in Selangor have received the Covid-19 vaccine during the first phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, as of yesterday.
According to the information by the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV) on its Twitter, a total of 139,720 people have been vaccinated nationwide.
Out of the total, Sarawak tops the chart with 22,140 people vaccinated so far, followed by Pahang (14,473), Kelantan (11,927), Sabah (11,739), Kuala Lumpur (11,267), Johor (10,719) and Perak (10,678).
A total of 6,932 people have received the vaccine in Terengganu, Kedah (6,269), Penang (5,292), Negeri Sembilan (4,864), Melaka (4,312), Putrajaya (2,290), Labuan (2,259) and Perlis (2,223).
Previously, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said a total of 68, 677 individuals in Selangor will receive the vaccine during the first phase, which involves three categories of frontliners.
He said the first category covers 37,151 personnel from the Health Ministry (MOH) and 14,357 private hospitals and clinic personnel in the second category.
The third category is to include 17,169 non-medical frontliners such as firemen and police.
