Selcare knocks on doors, urge foreign workers to undergo Covid-19 screening

By Mustakim Ramli

SHAH ALAM, March 14 — Selcare has taken the initiative to knock on the doors of residents in Section 27, here, and urge its occupants to undergo the free Covid-19 screening operation.

Its community screening coordinator Abdul Hadri Hakimi Abdul Rahman said the door-to-door visits were carried out as some of the residents in the area, particularly foreign workers, had not received the information regarding the testing programme.

“We go door-to-door to ask them to get themselves screened even if some of them said that they have previously undergone the screening.

“We are not sure that the area is entirely free from Covid-19 so we urge them to participate in the operation,” he said when met at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Seroja Hall in Section 27, here today.

Meanwhile, Abdul Hadri said that the testing initiative held earlier today received a good response, especially among the locals.

He added public awareness regarding the programme has increased following the continuation of the series of the screening initiative.

The Selangor government has allocated RM6 million to conduct the free Covid-19 community screening across the state beginning in February.

More than 6,000 individuals have participated in the programme including 894 senior citizens from 32 nursing homes.
