Phase 3 free screening to trace infected factory workers

SHAH ALAM, June 17 — The third phase of Selangor’s free Covid-19 community screening will use the Preventing and Detecting Outbreaks at Ignition Sites (POIS) system to detect the Covid-19 infection among factory workers.

Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the system would be able to identify factories recording high infection rate and stop the outbreak from spreading within the community.

“The upcoming community screening will focus on the industrial sector as well as hotspot areas.

“I urge the people in Selangor to take this opportunity to ensure that they are protected from the infection as well as their family members,” he said on Facebook yesterday.

The next phase of the community testing will begin on June 19 focusing on Covid-19 hotspots that were identified via Phase 2 of the testing programme.

The first location will be held at Dewan Komuniti MBPJ in Kampung Lindungan for residents in Seri Setia and Taman Medan state constituencies.

The programme will then continue in Sungai Tua, Gombak Setia, Taman Templer, Kajang, Hulu Klang and Bukit Antarabangsa.

Those who have tested positive for Covid-19 will also receive Home Assessment Kits when undergoing home quarantine.
