Residents in Taman Murni second EMCO location to get vaccinated on Sunday

SERDANG, July 8 — The residents in Taman Murni, Sepang, which have been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO), will be receiving their Covid-19 shots on Sunday.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the area is the second location in the state under the EMCO that will be delivered the vaccines after Mentari Court in PJS 8, Petaling Jaya.

“We are now making the logistical and other necessary preparations in the area. We hope that the move (to vaccinate the residents) will speed up the immunisation process of the people in the state.

“On Sunday or Monday, I will be visiting the area to oversee the operations. Some 2,000 to 3,000 residents will be inoculated,” he said today when met at the Selangor Student Welfare and Development Programme at Universiti Putra Malaysia today.

Amirudin said the distribution of vaccines to localities under the EMCO will be carried out depending on the vaccine supply available.

“This would ease the process for the residents as they would not have to go to the vaccination centre,” he added.

Since Monday, about 9,000 residents at Mentari Court to receive the Pfizer-BioNtech shot. They are the first group of people in an area enforced under the EMCO to be inoculated.
