Go Digital helps 83 traders expand sales potential during MCO

By Sheeda Fathil

SHAH ALAM, Sept 7 — A total of 83 entrepreneurs in Selangor have benefited from the Go Digital financing scheme amounting to RM343,000 to expand their online business potential, says Menteri Besar.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the financing up to RM5,000 has helped the traders to earn continuous income throughout the movement control order (MCO).

“Hopefully, this initiative will be able to help the traders in generating sales despite several restrictions on economic activities imposed during MCO,” he said on Facebook, last night.

He said the initiative which was launched in February is aligned with the state digitalisation agenda to establish a smart business system.

On February 10, the state government launched Go Digital with the aim to help existing entrepreneurs to boost their business during the tough times due to the pandemic.

The scheme which targets 3,000 entrepreneurs provides financing to purchase telecommunication devices such as gadgets and tablets, of which it could be used to market their products and services.

Further details on the scheme could be obtained via www.hijrahselangor.com website and the applicants must fulfil certain criteria such as:

  1. Selangor citizen
  2. Reside in Selangor not less than five years
  3. Voting in Selangor
  4. Age between 18 to 60 years old
  5. Have a business premise
