Selangor to offer 10,000 tourism vouchers

By Mustakim Ramli

SHAH ALAM, Sept 9 — The state government will be offering 10,000 tourism vouchers soon to stimulate the sector as Selangor shifts into Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) tomorrow.

State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian said RM1 million is allocated for the Selangor Tourism Voucher 2.0 initiative and the voucher worth RM100 each can be used from October onwards.

“We will launch it either this month or next month. Hopefully, the voucher can be used this year because there are only three months left in 2021,” he said today.

He said this at a ceremony to hand over cash aid to 17 tourism associations in Selangor which was held virtually through Tourism Selangor’s Facebook.

He said the previous Selangor Tourism Voucher 1.0 allocated RM2 million which was distributed to the public in January this year, through Lazada and Touch ‘n Go e-wallet.

On December 18 last year, the Selangor government has launched the Tourism Voucher Subsidy Redemption programme valued at RM200 each.

The 10,000 vouchers can be redeemed at hotel premises, licensed homestays and theme parks in Selangor.
