MB: Don’t be complacent, continue to abide by SOPs to avoid MCO

SHAH ALAM, Nov 3 — Selangorians have been reminded to not be complacent and maintain self-discipline, so the movement control order (MCO) will not have to be further reinforced.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the public should act responsibly by always wearing face masks, using sanitiser and maintaining social distancing as much as possible.

“Through the openness and awareness in protecting yourself and your family by taking the complete dose of the vaccine, we can see the light emerging as the economy and social activities begin to open up.

“People can now travel across districts and states to visit their family and friends,” he said during his message today in conjunction with Deepavali tomorrow.

Amirudin said Deepavali is celebrated joyfully as it signifies the end of darkness and the beginning of a bright future, as well as depicts the story of goodness overcoming darkness.

He added the meaning of the festival is akin to the situation faced by the country for almost two years as it lived in darkness due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We are all happy to be able to breathe a sigh of relief because this Deepavali can be celebrated with family and dear friends after struggling with MCO for almost two years,” he added.
