SHAH ALAM, Dec 21 — Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) employees held a gotong-royong to prepare 1,500 to 2,000 lunches, which were then distributed to flood victims around Shah Alam.

Its chief executive officer Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said a total of RM3,000 was allocated daily to the Dapur Ehsan programme and will continue until the flood situation has fully recovered.

He said the initiative is in line with the state government’s call to help ease the burden of victims affected by the disaster since Friday.

“For a start, cooked food will be distributed by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) at temporary relief centres (PPS) and in flooded areas.

“We will also cooperate with Federal agencies including the Social and Welfare Department (JKM) to launch this aid mission,” Mohamad Khairil said when met at the Menteri Besar’s Official Residence here today.

He added the supply of food items for the programme came from the Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV) farm, as well as donations from tenants and wholesalers at the Pasar Borong Selangor.

“The cost of implementing this programme was not too high because we use our own products such as chicken, meat and eggs,” Mohamad Khairil said.
