Thunderstorms, heavy rains expected in seven Selangor districts

SHAH ALAM, Jan 31 — Strong winds, heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to occur in seven districts in Selangor until 6pm today.

The weather forecast includes areas in Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang.

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the similar weather condition is also forecasted in Perak, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Negeri Sembilan.

In Perak, the areas include Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim.

Meanwhile, in Negeri Sembilan, several locations in Jelebu, Seremban and Port Dickson are expected to experience bad weather.

MetMalaysia issues the warning if signs indicate that thunderstorms with a rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are expected to occur over a one-hour duration.

The thunderstorm warnings are short-term, with each warning valid within six hours after being issued.
